Well here I am on this gorgeous sunny Saturday afternoon sitting at home with so much to do. I know that I should get up and clean my house and fix dinner for my family but I am too lazy to move. I seldom have a few moments that I can just sit at home and relax all by myself. With two teenagers in my house, I have a revolving door. My grocery bill has doubled this summer as my kids and their friends think that my pantry is the local Walmart superstore. I do however enjoy the fact that my kids are comfortable bringing their friends home and that they think their parents are still very cool.
This brings me to the part where I get to introduce my family. My hubby is to the far left in the family picture, then there are my three body guards and "my one eye " as I fondly call my daughter. The Tigger is my nephew's son and he is too cute not to love. I am helping to raise him as my nephew passed away last year from Valley Fever two days before his first birthday. We miss him but he left us a very special gift in the form of his son. He brings much laughter to our family now and I can cancel my membership at 24Hrs because he keeps me up and down. My husband and I met and started dating the last year of High School and the rest is history. We have been married for 24 years now and I am more in love with him now than when I first met him. My mom called it puppy love but I sure proved her wrong. LOL.
My oldest son is about to graduate from Oakwood University in Alabama and I am saying Praise God as I can get some relief from those out of state tuition fees. My second son is a senior and my daughter is a freshman. My baby goes off to Junior High this year too. WOW where did the years go. Just the other day I was walking around with diaper bags and bottles and now I have to look up to all of them as they have all grown past me in height. I have been truly blessed to have had a happy life and a great experience raising my children. They have caused me to grow as an individual and have stretched me to my limits at times. I have had to learn unconditional love for many times I have wanted to kill them but love kept them alive. LOL. Life has not been without it challenges but we have pulled through each and every storm. Adversities caused me to find strength when I wanted to sit and cry. Motherhood has taught me to smile when I wanted to scream. I love life because I get to share it with the ones I love.
I enjoy what I do for a career too, there's nothing better than filling young minds with knowledge except being a mother of course. Teaching gives me another opportunity to be Mom, I can't tell you the number of third graders that call me Mom even after they have left my classroom. I especially love when their little eyes light up when they grasp a concept. Over the years I have had many reasons to celebrate what I do each day and it motivates me for the next school year. I refer fondly to my incoming class each year as S and S, Soil and Seed, I either plant the seed for some (Soil) or provide the water for others(Seed) Either way they will leave my classroom better than they came in.
My Motto: Each day I wake up is a gift from God, what I do with my day is my gift to Him.
Have a great day or evening.
